Dalby, Wendland & Co., P.C., is pleased to announce local CPAs Brian J. Hollingsworth and Kelsa D. Tinsley have attained certifications in Employee Benefit Plans Audit (EBP) from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. Brian obtained the Intermediate Employee Benefit Plans Audit Certificate and Kelsa obtained the Advanced Employee Benefit Plans Audit Certificate.
The certifications are designed for auditors with three to seven years of experience in performing EBP audits and ensures the recipient has the ability to plan, perform, and evaluate EBP audits in accordance with the latest standards from the American Institute of CPAs and Department of Labor and IRS requirements. To obtain certification, recipients must pass a 3.5 hour exam.
Brian Hollingsworth, CPA, is an audit manager and joined Dalby Wendland’s audit team in 2013. He provides auditing and accounting services to a variety of clients and industries including healthcare entities, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and construction. He has a bachelor of science degree in business administration and master’s in accounting from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Brian is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Colorado Society of CPAs, past treasurer and secretary of Grand Junction Lions Club, and a board member of the Mesa County School District Finance Committee and the Colorado National Monument Association.
Kelsa Tinsley, CPA, is an audit manager. She started with Dalby Wendland as an intern in 2011 and joined the firm full-time after graduating in 2012 from Colorado Mesa University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and a minor in computer information systems. Kelsa has experience in several industries, including manufacturing, financial institutions, life and health insurance, non-profits, institutions of higher education, and employee benefit plans. Kelsa also assists in preparing business valuations. She is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, and is a board member of the Grand Junction Air Show.
