Vicki L. Goetter, PAFM, joins DWC as new COO
Dalby Wendland is pleased to announce Vicki Goetter as the Firm’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Vicki has 20 years in the public accounting and consulting industry, specifically in the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area. In addition, she has 10 years’ experience in private business in the U.S. and U.K. Her dynamic personality, management and operations expertise, and creativity in problem solving has made her an asset in the industry for firms of all sizes. She has been able to assist in increasing overall firm morale and employee retention, improvement of firm workflow in tax, redefining processes and procedures across firm lines to increase firm profitability, and project leadership through effective planning and communication in desired areas such as human resources, marketing, and technology. Vicki is the past president and vice president of the New Jersey Chapter of the CPA FMA and is a return speaker at the CCH Connections conference, a tax and accounting software solutions provider. She holds an accreditation of Public Accounting Firm Manager (PAFM). In addition to her affiliation with the CPA FMA she is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). She attended Richard Stockton University.
Sarah J. Fischer, CPA, to Associate Principal
Sarah joined the Grand Junction tax office in 2001. She specializes in tax planning and preparation services for individuals and private companies in several industries, including auto dealerships, manufacturing, and medical practices, and serves as one of the Firm’s specialists in the Affordable Care Act. Sarah frequently writes guest articles on individual and business issues for The Business Times and Dalby Wendland’s blog. She is also a presenter for various industry organizations on tax issues and updates affecting their industry. She is a member of American Institute of CPAs and Colorado Society of CPAs. Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Colorado State University, Ft. Collins.
Lisa Thon-Kollar, CPA, to Associate Principal
Lisa joined Dalby Wendland’s Grand Junction tax office in 2006. She specializes in tax planning and preparing federal and state income tax returns for businesses, trusts, and estates. She also works extensively with small businesses in taxation and consulting, specializing in the construction and hospitality industries. Lisa earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western State College in Gunnison and bachelor’s in accounting from Colorado Mesa University. She is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Lisa gives back to her community as a member of the Horizon Sunrise Rotary Club and St. Mary’s Estate Planning Council.
Brian J. Hollingsworth, CPA, to Audit Manager
Brian joined Dalby Wendland’s audit team in 2013. He provides auditing and accounting services to a variety of clients and industries including healthcare entities, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, and construction. He has a bachelor of science degree in business administration and master’s in accounting from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Brian is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Colorado Society of CPAs, past treasurer and secretary of Grand Junction Lions Club, and a board member of the Mesa County School District Finance Committee and the Colorado National Monument Association.
Mark W. Plantz, CPA, to Tax Manager
Mark joined Dalby Wendland’s Montrose office in August of 2013. Before joining the Firm, Mark served in the United States Navy, then worked for an audit and tax firm and a bookkeeping/payroll company while in college. Mark specializes in small business and primarily works with real estate and medical clients. He attained an associate of arts in business degree from Colorado Mountain College (Glenwood Springs) and a bachelor of arts in accounting degree from Ft. Lewis College in Durango, CO. Mark enjoys giving back to the community, especially to causes that support and promote local business, leadership development, benefit youth and families, and the outdoors. He was recently instrumental in the involvement of creating the newest Rotary Club in Colorado, the Black Canyon Rotary Club, where he currently serves as the President. Mark also serves as the secretary of the Montrose Recreation District.
Sean P. Tankersley, CPA, to Tax Manager
Sean grew up overseas, living in several countries, however has always had roots in the Roaring Fork Valley. Prior to joining Dalby Wendland’s Glenwood Springs office in 2017, Sean was with global firm KPMG, LLP in Denver. Sean particularly enjoys working in the areas of corporation, S-corporation, and partnership taxation and has had the opportunity to work with a diverse set of clients ranging from multinational businesses to small companies in a variety of industries. He holds a bachelor of science in accounting degree from Santa Clara University in California, and master’s in taxation degree from University of Denver. In addition to supporting education and kids in the community, Sean is a member of Trout Unlimited and the Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association.
Gregory M. Ward, CPA, to Tax Manager
Greg joined Dalby, Wendland & Co.’s Glenwood Springs office in August of 2013. He attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and attained a bachelor’s degree in accounting, with highest honors. Greg works in the areas of individual taxation, estates and trusts, small business taxation, tax-exempt organization reporting, and foreign reporting. Greg is a guest article contributor on business issues for The Business Times and Dalby Wendland’s blog. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Colorado Society of CPAs, National Eagle Scout Association, and volunteers his time as the treasurer for the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants Roaring Fork Chapter.
Lucas D. Warth, CPA, to Tax Manager
Lucas grew up in Ames, IA. He attained a B.A. from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, and master’s degree in accountancy from Colorado State University, Ft. Collins. Lucas joined DWC’s Glenwood Springs office in 2014. He provides individual and business income tax preparation services and consulting, working heavily in the auto dealership industry. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Colorado Society of CPAs, and serves on the board of local nonprofit YouthEntity.
Loren L. Hofer, CPA, to Tax Supervisor
Loren grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia. She moved to Grand Junction in 2001 and become a US Citizen in 2008. Loren graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a B.S. in accounting and computer information systems. She worked for a couple of smaller accounting firms prior to joining Dalby Wendland’s Grand Junction tax office in 2013. Loren works with clients in various industries and particularly enjoys working with businesses needing more advisory services geared to overall business growth. She is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs and serves as the treasurer for the Western Slope Chapter of the Colorado Society of CPA’s.
