Confidentiality and Third Party Disclosure

We will exercise reasonable efforts to protect and maintain the confidentiality of your personal and financial information. We may at times utilize the services of third parties in serving your account, and this may require disclosure of your personal and financial information. We will require such third parties to take reasonable steps to protect and maintain the confidentiality of your information, or we will notify you in advance and seek your consent to disclosure if such restrictions cannot be imposed. This obligation does not apply to information that is in the public domain, information that we obtain from third party sources without restrictions on disclosure, or information obtained after termination of our services.

Compliance with Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act

The privacy of your information is very important to us, and we have always been bound by professional standards of confidentiality. We are now required by law to inform you of our privacy policy. The following is our privacy policy, in compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Public Law 106-102(FTC 16 CFR Part 313):

  1. We collect nonpublic personal information about you that is provided by you or obtained by us with your authorization. This information may come from various sources, including information we receive from personal interviews, tax organizers, worksheets, letters, emails, and other documents necessary to provide professional services to you.
  2. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our clients or former clients to anyone, except as permitted or required by law, or when necessary to process transactions requested by you.
  3. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to members of our firm who need to know that information in order to provide you professional services.
  4. We retain records relating to the professional services that we provide you in accordance with regulatory and ethical guidelines, standards and regulations.
  5. We employ physical, electronic, and procedural security safeguards to protect your nonpublic information.
  6. We periodically dispose of records through a certified destruction process or through shredding based on our records retention policy.

Website Tracking

We use a third-party tracking service by Google Analytics that uses IP addresses and “cookies” to track information about our website visitors. This service provides us with general information such as number of visits, which website pages are being visited the most, and characteristics and behavior such as how visitors may be accessing our site (computer, tablet, or smartphone), and general visitor demographics (gender, age categories, interest categories). Google Analytics only provides us with general information; it does not provide us your email address or other personally identifiable information. We strictly use this service for information to help make our website more informative and useful to visitors.

“Cookies” are small pieces of data sent from a website and stored in a user’s web browser while the user is browsing that website. Every time the user loads the website, the browser sends the cookie back to the server to notify the website of the user’s previous activity. Cookies cannot carry viruses, and cannot install malware on the host computer.

An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a number assigned to your computer for communication to other computers and servers on the Internet. IP addresses are typically recorded for IT security, system diagnostic purposes, and for website analytics/analysis performance.
